Has anyone else tried updating to Nextion Editor version 1.67.1 ? – Any problems?
I am finding that with 1.67.1 it now takes over a minute to start the simulator.
Once started, the simulator works fine.
After reinstalling 1.65.1, the simulator starts immediately as before.
Are there any important changes in 1.67.1 worth having, because the slow simulator startup is unacceptable.
Note this occurs even with a newly created almost empty project, so cannot have anything to do with my code.
This is with the Intelligent 7" 800x480 display.
(I am on a good quality but older windows 10 laptop, but do not have this problem with 1.65.1)
On further testing, this problem (of long delay before Simulator start-up) seems to occur ONLY on my Dell laptop, but does not occur on other Windows 10 systems I’ve tried. Neither the Nextion hardware version specified, nor the HMI file makes any difference (including a new empty project).
I’ve tried several things involving restarting Windows, turning off antivirus, uninstalling / reinstalling the Nextion Editor and Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable. Nothing seems to help. I may try reinstalling Windows on the laptop (ugh) or maybe just buying a new laptop. I’m still interested if anyone else has seen this issue or can suggest a remedy.
This happened to me too, and I don’t know the reasons and solutions.
This happened to me on acer laptop. I’ve tried to search for the older version of Nextion Editor but ended up with nothing. Do you have Nextion Editor version 1.65.1 installed on your computer? Can you send it to me please? I’m curious if my laptop can run the simulation instantly on that version.
I am running the Nextion editor under Win10 in a dedicated virtual machine (UTM) on a ways bigger development system. Thanks to snapshots, I can easily revert everything to the original configuration. But whatever I tried to reproduce the problem by installing different antivirus tools etc., nothing created that delay which some users experience. I came to the conclusion that it might be a graphics driver issue. But up to now, I could not yet gather enough problem reports with corresponding details to confirm this theory. One thing is sure, the VC++ runtime is not causing this problem since it intervenes only when (intelligent series specific) multimedia content is involved.
How were you able to reinstall 1.65.1? I cannot find legacy downloads on their website.
If anyone is looking to rollback their firmware version, here’s how you do it:
Go to the Nextion website, and click on Community → Forums. Sign up for an account and login. The first pinned post on the forums is the changelog, where they have downloads to each version.
